Common Pests

There are numerous pests in Kansas that can cause an infestation problem.  ​ Fortunately, Royal Pest Control knows how to manage and control them.  ​ Here is a list of some more common pests that you may encounter in your home or business.


Brown Recluse Spider

Has the ability of hiding inside homes, in the darkest and smallest places it can find, and can be identified by the fiddle shape on its back.


Black Widow Spider

Has a shiny black body with a red hourglass marking on the abdomen. The female spins a funnel shaped web.


Cricket

Has a 1/2–3/4 inch long body and are dark brown to black. They have rounded wings that almost cover their body. Field crickets are well known for their singing.


Clover Mite

A common nuisance in and around the home. Most noticeable in the fall and again in the spring. Slightly smaller than the head of a pin with a reddish or reddish-brown body.


Silverfish

Always wingless and are silvery to brown in color because their bodies are covered with fine scales.


Indian Meal Moth

Small, grayish-brown moth common in many Kansas homes. The caterpillar stage feeds on nuts, herbs, coarsely ground grains, and other pantry items.


German Cockroach

The German Cockroach lives near food and water sources, but can be found anywhere in a home or business.


Mice

Found near food sources. In kitchens, warehouses and office these little rodents are a potential serious health threat.
